Brady: Patriots’ History With Giants ‘Won’t Have Any Bearing’ On Sunday’s Game

Does this New England Patriots team actually have a legitimate shot at going undefeated and completing the first 19-0 season in National Football League history? Halfway through the year, it’s probably too early to even consider this scenario. It is above.500, but no one expects a team that squeaks into the postseason like that to win it all.

But these are the Patriots we’re talking about. NY owns a slim half-game lead over Philadelphia in the division, and has two more losses than Green Bay and Arizona with a 4-4 record in the conference. “So it’s going to a tough challenge for us, but we’re going to accept it”. That’s all I really care about. It is extremely doubtful that any other coach in the National Football League doesn’t have a degree of trepidation when confronting New England’s head coach. As you may have heard, the Giants would win both of those match-ups and the last three games between the two teams overall.

The 34-year-old Manning improved to third in the league with 20 touchdowns on the year, and Beckham’s now fourth with 759 yards, and though he didn’t reach the end zone he’s still sits tied for second with seven touchdown catches. They’ve turned it over an NFL-low 5 times and should be capable of continuing that trend even against NY. The recognition of Ann and Frank to me just really touches the great tradition that the Giants have, have always had and how important those two people were and the part that they played in that.

“They’re undefeated, but they have to come through here”, Pierre-Paul said Wednesday, referring to Brady and the Patriots.

In four seasons with New England, Vereen totaled 907 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns to go with 1,332 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns.

So much has to go right between now and then of course. (The Giants have nine sacks on the season; by contrast, the Patriots compiled eight sacks in their Week 2 win at Buffalo.) The Giants are now a first-place team, but that’s as much by default as it is anything else.
