UFC 193: Rousey vs

In a 45-minute question-and-answer session with reporters before leaving for Australia for the main event of UFC 193, Rousey delivered thoughtful responses to each and every question she was asked. Holly Holm is the next fearless soul who will attempt to reverse that trend.

However, Rousey, being the champ that she is, would surely end the fight easily.

Holm faces a daunting task, but the bookmakers rate her a better chance of causing an upset than Valerie Letourneau against champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk in the women’s straw-weight title fight on the same card.

“They gave me confidence so when it came I can’t say I was surprised because it’s something we already saw in my future anyway”, Holm said.

After the fight she announced plans to drop down to 145lbs to challenge Miesha Tate, the reigning Strikeforce champion with who she had developed a very public and extremely bitter rivalry.

Rousey would appear in a special TV documentary revolving around her fighting career.

“We’re not interested anymore”, White snarled on the “UFC Tonight” television show. But me, after I retire with her, it’s going to be hard. Why? “I’m an aggressive one so I think I’d be Sith all the way even though I think the Jedi have much prettier light sabers”. Based exclusively on Holm’s first two fights in the octagon, the pairing looks like as much of a squash match as Rousey’s 34-second annihilation of Bethe Correia in August.

Rousey was awarded a “Performance of the Night” bonus for her win. Jedrzejczyk, on the other hand, is a 23-1 favorite to retain her title. She would drop anybody in the world. Many experts believe she isn’t ready.

Coming into this fight, Rousey was 9-0, while her opponent, ranked No. 2 at the time, was 16-5.

“That’s the environment I do the best in”, Rousey said at a recent media event.

Maybe it’s that she consistently gets the job done quickly – her last three fights have a combined running time of just 64 seconds. “I mean, it’s for me in the sense that you get that energy and it’s unbelievable”. I’ve had all sorts of people that don’t know what MMA is who know who Rousey is and have legitimate interest in her. I know that doesn’t always equal pay-per-view sales, but she got 900,000 out of a chump opponent and weak supporting cast at UFC 190. “I don’t know. I’ve got to watch the fight”.

“If anything, I feel like they’ll appreciate me when I’m gone”, Rousey said. “It’s probably not the best thing she does, she probably better at ground game, but again, she’s more experienced there”.
