National Football League odds 2015, Week 10: Packers, Bengals highlight betting favorites
It will be interesting to see how a Mike Mularkey-led team will end the season and if they can pull a miraculous turn-around of the season, after losing six straight in between their two current victories. Through 9 games, Gordon has rushed for 413 yards for 0 TDs to go along with 4 fumbles. Importantly though, it was his lack of interceptions that was the difference maker in this game.
The Packers were rolling until Week 8 and thought to be second-best team in the National Football League, and tops in the NFC.
In other games, a last-gasp 38-35 win for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Oakland Raiders was overshadowed by a fresh injury to veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Maybe this victory over Dallas signifies the start of a run to the play-offs for Philadelphia. When Miami loses, they lose big, suffering each of their last four defeats by an average of 21 points. It’s going to be tough to dethrone the Patriots for the top spot, but this Bengals team is looking more and more capable of doing it. Similarly, Rodgers was contained the week before against the Broncos, recording his worst ever statistics for a game he started and finished. They are 0-6 without their starting quarterback, and they’ll have to suffer for one more week with Matt Cassel at the helm.
With the 2015 National Football League season entering Week 10, several teams face pivotal games as they try to stay in the playoff hunt. They’ve given up 1,001 yards on the ground in eight games. Nearly out of nowhere the Vikings have caught up with Green Bay and are tied for the division lead at 6-2. If the Packers aren’t careful, they could soon find themselves competing for a wildcard spot rather than a bye week and home field advantage. These teams are similar in a lot of ways both have strong running games and a tough defense. But you might be better off buying a lottery ticket.
Pagano’s team came out of nowhere and delivered the performance of the season in what could be a career-saving win over the Denver Broncos. This will be another close one, but Tavon Austin will set up the Rams with nice field position and allow them to kick the game winning field goal.
Most of the AFC’s divisions have seemingly crowned their champions.
BENGALS AT BRONCOS in Week 16: The AFC’s two best teams not based in the Northeast.
But with eight weeks left in the season, we know it’s not as simple as plugging those teams in and saying one is the Super Bowl victor.
Somebody will emerge as a contender to the big three in the next month. This may open the door for the Houston Texans who stand at 3-4, to possibly steal the division crown. Injuries have plagued this team, and will continue to do so, but their gutsy win over Oakland on Sunday proved that they continue to fight for a play-off spot. They were terrific. They won the Super Bowl the next year, too.
The Buffalo Bills and NY Jets?
The Jets come into the week at 5-3 and they are playing on Thursday night against the Buffalo Bills.
Every single one of Baltimore’s games has been close this season.
Despite having one of the best records in the league, the Minnesota Vikings have seemingly become the most underrated team in the league. Running bavk Adrian Peterson has returned from suspension as a substantial force in the backfield.
The Dolphins had another secret weapon in 1972: an easy schedule.
PATRIOTS AT BRONCOS in Week 12: Brady and Denver’s Peyton Manning renew their rivalry in a prime-time game, and the Broncos finally have a topflight defense to throw at the Patriots. Among 33 quarterbacks who have dropped back at least 100 times this season, Mariota is 14th in Passing NEP per drop back, but Mariota’s play this season was never really the issue for Tennessee’s struggles this year. The Colts’ last such win came in the 2014 playoffs: a 24-13 win against Manning and the Broncos.
