Warne’s Warriors beat Sachin’s Blasters in second T20 game in Houston
Legendary cricket players Sachin Tendulkar of India and Shane Warne of Australia are headlining their respective teams, Sachin’s Blasters and Warne’s Warriors.
The Sri Lankan was the star of the innings, smacking six fours and six sixes in a 30-ball innings of 70 before a few late hitting from Andrew Symonds (19 from six balls) and Jonty Rhodes (18 from eight balls) propelled the Warriors to their total. The Warriors got to a swinging start when Michael Vaughn and Matthew Hayden notched up a fifty run partnership in five overs. Sangakkara scored 70 off 30 balls, Kallis scored 45 off 23 whereas Ponting scored 41 off 16 as they ended up on 262/6 in 20 overs.
Symonds picked four wickets, while representing Warne’s Warriors. None of Blasters bowlers were spared as everyone had an economy rate of atleast 10, but Klusener was the most successful as he finished with 45/2 in his three overs. It will be surely a tricky decision for Tendulkar to take regarding Ganguly after the skipper and Sehwag went off to a flier in the match.
Tendulkar perished trying to press the accelerator in the ninth over as the Warriors spinners, once again put the squeeze on the run scoring.
Once Sehwag departed the wickets kept falling for Blasters and with required run-rate creeping up they were out of the contention.
Shaun Pollock scored a quick half-century off just 21 balls as he scored 55 off 22 balls.
