Ben Roethlisberger out for weeks
In his time as both the starting quarterback and as relief to both Roethlisberger and Vick, Jones completed 28 of 47 attempted passes for 456 yards and three touchdowns.
The Steelers quarterback was expected to be in a walking boot all week after suffering a mid-foot sprain in his left foot Sunday, but he is out of it already and is “progressing ahead of schedule”, ESPN reported Thursday. The Steelers have been hurt by tight ends this season, and Barnidge has developed into a favorite target of Browns quarterbacks.
Setting aside Roethlisberger’s injury, the biggest blow the Steelers received was losing leading running back Le’Veon Bell who suffered a torn MCL in Week 8 which sidelines him for the entire season.
Jones connected on his first three passes and his final completion turned into a 57-yard catch-and-run by Antonio Brown that set up Chris Boswell’s chip shot from 18 yards with 2 seconds left.
Roethlisberger also opened up about how team doctors and trainers are treating the injury. I can walk on it. I’m not running around or anything but the smart thing to do, from what doc has told me and the trainers is just to kind of keep ice on it and get the swelling out and just kind of rest it, let it heal. If Roethlisberger can’t go against the Browns, it would be his fifth missed game of the year.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly in danger of seeing Ben Roethlisberger out for the current National Football League regular season.
– Head coach Mike Pettine said he considers Roethlisberger not playing a break for the team but does not take Landry jones lightly.
“We’re going to play to win regardless of who is in there”, Jones said. In the Kansas City game, I was trying to do too much.
Romo is eligible to return in Week 11 on November 22 against the Miami Dolphins. The Cowboys have a 2-6 record this season, and their playoff hopes appear dim.
“You can’t sit and wait on him because it [Philadelphia] was a game we could have easily won without him being there”. But Woodson kept on going. “I just have to go out there and play”. I thought we were able to run it because of some of the things in the passing game, and I thought on some of our first-and-10 play passes, we were able to get some chunks and do some things there because of how we were able to run the ball.
