Goat Simulator will ‘baaa’ on PS4 and PS3 this August
Curious players do not have to wait much longer – Goat Simulator will be available on the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in less than a month, starting August 11th. There is a point to Goat Simulator other than having a superpowered, super stretchy goat, however.
“We’ve been working on GoatVR for some time, and we’re pleased to debut it in the Playstation editions of Goat Simulator“, Double Eleven’s Mark South notes in the post on the PlayStation Blog. Originally a gaming-inspired April Fool’s joke about sparking goat chaos across the world, Coffee Stain Studios expanded the concept with a complete game release, an MMO expansion, and even zombie DLC. Of course, this isn’t just a game where you wander around a farm and eat whatever you can find.
One neat feature unveiled for the PS4 and PS3 is that the game will have local multiplayer, which means up to four people on the PS4 (and two on the PS3) will be able to take the reigns of their very own goat and just start creating chaos. So the answer is in short that it actually works, and with more than one goat! Regardless, we can still be excited that PlayStation owners can – finally and truly – play as a goat. “Although it’s not quite ready yet we felt that it better to stay ahead of the crowd and let it out into the wild”.
This “simulated GoatVR experience” doesn’t require any extra hardware – no special herdset, for instance.
