Trump blasts ‘weak, ineffective’ Mizzou heads, Sanders wants racism addressed
“Believe me. There would be no resignation”.
“I think it’s disgusting”.
The university has been rocked by charges that school administrators have failed to address simmering racial tensions on campus. “I think the two people that resigned are weak, ineffective people”.
The 2016 presidential hopeful didn’t stop there – he also commented on the list of demands from the student protesters.
“As I understand it, (former President Tim Wolfe) didn’t respond to legitimate concerns of acts of racism on campus, and may have missed an opportunity to try and heal the wounds and give people the sense that the university had no tolerance for that”, Bush said.
“I think it’s disgusting”, Trump told Fox Business Channel’s Maria Bartiromo in a phone interview.
“I think the two people that resigned are weak, ineffective people”, he said. The things that they are asking for, many of those things are like insane. “To say that I have the right to violate your civil rights because you’re offending me is un-American”, he said on FOX News’ The Kelly File. People are so frightened of the politically correct police that they are willing to do things that are irrational in order to appease them.
“The officials at these places must recognize that and have the moral courage to stand up it. Because if they don’t, it will grow, it will exacerbate the situation and we will move much further toward anarchy than anybody can imagine, and much more quickly”, he added.
Trumps antipathy toward the Mizzou students should come as no surprise, since it was just last September when he declared during a Fox News interview that the Black Lives Matter members were “looking for trouble”.
“Does freedom of speech mean there will be boorish people who say things that you don’t associate with?”
How has the history of racism and black student activism led us to what is happening at Mizzou and other campuses across the country?
“I’m listening to the #BlackOnCampus conversation”.
Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton retweeted one of her staffers, calling for “change”. “It’s time to address structural racism on college campuses”, Sanders tweeted on Thursday.
