Eden Hazard: PSG ready huge bid for Chelsea star
The former club doctor is now taking Chelsea to an employment tribunal on grounds of constructive dismissal.
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is set to be called as one of Eva Carneiro’s star witnesses when her claim against the club for constructive dismissal is heard next year, as per the reports on Daily Mail.
The former Chelsea doctor quit her role at the club after Jose Mourinho publicly criticised her handling of Hazard’s injury in the final minutes of the 2-2 draw with Swansea City on August 8.
Hazard is expected to be called upon to testify on whether he asked referee Michael Olivier for medical assistance, with TV footage showing the Belgian appealing for help.
The 24-year-old is one of many players in the Chelsea squad who have failed to live up their fine form from last season, with the Londoners now sat in 16th place in the league table.
Carneiro was dropped from first-team duties following Mourinho’s criticism, when he labelled her and Fearn “impulsive and naive”, and she eventually departed the club after her position became untenable.
Carneiro made her first public appearance since her acrimonious departure from Chelsea earlier this season last month when she attended the Best of Africa Awards in London.
She is also in the process of filing a separate case personally against manager Jose Mourinho, which would mean the Portuguese having to appear in front of a tribunal.
Mourinho has already been cleared by an FA investigation, which looked into claims he used discriminatory language during his exchange with Carneiro.
