Drogba admits Mourinho has third-season syndrome
Carlo Ancelotti would be open to a second spell at Chelsea but insists Jose Mourinho will remain in charge of the ailing Premier League champions.
Chelsea’s start to the new Premier League campaign has been nothing short of catastrophic, with the reigning English champions losing seven of their first 13 domestic games this term.
Despite this, Ancelotti – now without a club after parting ways with Real Madrid at the end of last season – would not be put off by a return to the London club, although he believes they are doing the right thing in standing by Mourinho.
Ancelotti admitted in an interview with the Daily Mail that the results recorded in his final season at Madrid may not have been up to scratch, but added every team goes through a barren year.
Stamford Bridge legend Didier Drogba has warned that Jose Mourinho’s time at Chelsea could once again be affected by his dreaded three-year jinx. Sometimes people think what he says is absurd and sometimes they agree with him.
“I would like to come back to work in England, ‘ he said”.
“I think Liverpool are a good team…I think they can be really competitive”.

Brazilian attacking midfielder Kenedy admitted he used to play as The Blues in his video games and now finds himself playing alongside them in real life, too. Catalan media has quickly pounced on these quotes, believing that the Chelsea star would be open to making a shocking move to Barcelona’s arch-enemy, echoing the consternation felt among many Arsenal supporters when he signed for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
I talked to [Diego Simeone] a few times.
“Otherwise, if you manage a team like Chelsea, you’re heading for a fall”. “To support the club manager, I think, is a way of showing respect, but is fundamentally a way to show passion for the club”.
It’s true I wasn’t as important at Chelsea.
“I was really, really unhappy because I had a fantastic relationship with the players”.
