Apple launches Beta version of Apple Music on Android
First, it eliminates all ads, and allows you to listen to music while offline.
If you’ve previously used YouTube as a music streaming app on your phone, you would’ve probably recognized that it was not really suitable to do so. By making the service a multi-platform app, Apple Music is now available to a much larger market, putting it on a more level playing-field with its main rival Spotify. Subscribers on Android will get the same free three-month trial that iOS users did.
A few analysts say the move is part of YouTube’s push to diversify how it generates revenue.
While it is possible to stream music on Android, the lack of an Android version of the iTunes Music Store means that it’s not possible to purchase individual tracks or albums.
According to the official blog of YouTube, the video streaming platform and Google have made artists able to gain significant amounts of notoriety by uploading their videos and gaining overnight fame. Considering that you will get a two-week free trial, you might want to install the app on your mobile device now.
Four months after debuting on iOS, Apple has launched an Android app for its Apple music streaming service.
You can now download Apple Music from the Google Play Store to any Android smartphone or tablet. Apple Music has more than 6.5 million paying users with additional 8.5 million people also using the app.
First announced back in October, YouTube has officially unveiled its YouTube Music app for the iPhone. Apple also points out all of the new features of its service, including Beats 1 and “even better recommendations”. “On the free version, once you navigate elsewhere, the music stops playing”.
