Audi S8 Plus priced from $114900

The S8 Plus flagship performance sedan will have its official public introduction for the North American region during the Los Angeles Auto Show starting next week, with the mind bending asphalt eating monster hiding under the long hood a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with 605 bhp (451 kW) and 516 lb-ft (698 Nm) of torque – this is no less than 85 bhp (63 kW) and 73 lb-ft (98 Nm) above the level set with the normal S8.

The S8 plus accelerates from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, to a top track speed of 155 miles per hour. The package also includes a modified sport exhaust system that gives the S8 plus an even more aggressive, powerful sound, and an increased top speed limiter, which increases the sedan’s top speed to 190 miles per hour.

Performance aside, the S8 plus features Audi’s legendary quattro all-wheel drive system as standard, along with a rear sport differential, adaptive air suspension and dynamic steering.

The optional Black optic exterior package includes carbon fiber mirror housings, a black Singleframe® grill and window surrounds, a carbon front blade and diffusor trim and darkened taillights. It has been tuned to deliver 605 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque in overboost mode. That results in a sprint to 100 km/h of just 3.8 seconds as well as a top speed of 305 km/h.

Audi has announced US-market pricing for its new S8 Plus and RS 7 Performance packages.

As for the all-new RS7 performance, it’s got the exact same muscle that you get in the S8 ultra, except that with this being a lighter vehicle, you also get slightly better performance.

“As opposed to the standard RS7, the “performance” version comes with carbon ceramic brakes, RS sport suspension, a redesigned bumper and a couple of other changes, including yes, new 21″ wheels. “New RS 7 performance exclusive 21” cast aluminum wheels come standard.

Both the S8 plus and RS 7 performance will go on sale December 2015. “The Audi R8, RS 7 performance and S8 plus represent the maximum of Audi performance, premium design and technology for our customers”.

The 2016 Audi S8 Plus appears to replace the S8 altogether, so the big-body Audi begins at the same price of $115,825.
