‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Episode 6 Spoilers: Lily Introduces Her One
While at Lily’s party, Bonnie selflessly helps Enzo make Lily jealous. Ouch. Julian convinces her to feed on one of the maids and promises he’ll keep it a secret. He is hooked up to an IV. They’re all being compelled, but which vampire is controlling them? Both Stefan and Damon want to kill Julian but the Salvatore brothers will have differing views when it comes to handling Julian’s arrival at present-day Mystic Falls. He offers Lily flowers and kisses her cheek. In a fatherly move, Julian then sits Stefan and Damon down to have a talk about respect. She says it’s pointless – that Lily or Julien will kill her. She says if she knew how deeply he’d hate her, she would’ve acted differently. But when Lily comes in and saves him, Stefan loses his nerve. At that moment Lily greets them at the door.
How does Lily try to get everyone to get along? Damon doesn’t understand why Stefan cares. While this is such a controversial arc for these two defiantly different characters, it brings such a thrill to the viewers on how the love arc culminated. The bond they’ve always shared pulls them together again as Damon vows to help Stefan with his quest to kill Julian. And Lily? Lily just wants Julian to accept her new, non-violent lifestyle and for everyone to live happily ever, very much alive. He asks why he should stand by while she brings back a man who has complete control over her. He asks her to choose between him and Julien. I wonder if this-and not the Phoenix Stone as I previously thought-may be what leads Bonnie towards that awful mistake she mentioned in her flash-forward…and somehow, eventually, into Enzo’s arms. I’m surprised that it doesn’t.
So things are probably being set up for whatever threat is hounding our heroes in three years time without us even realising, but really I’d still just rather get to the time-jump now. She doesn’t want to stick around and see how he retaliates to her setting him on fire. But not with her boyfriend Stefan Salvatore’s baby-with the twins of her former teacher (AND FUTURE FIANCE) Alaric Saltzman. Nora greets Matt and tries to make amends but Matt tells her to convince her family to leave Mystic Falls. So what’s going on with Jo? Valerie explains that the human body can not contain the essence of a vampire soul, so she’s a decomposing mess. She seems to look regretful when Caroline (Candice King) explains the circumstances of Jo’s first death. We did get to learn a bit about Not Jo before she passes: her name was Florence and she was killed with a metal sword. They are people she’s accumulated over the years, cast out and shunned witches like Kai (last season’s villain, played by Chris Wood) and are only able to do magic that’s been siphoned. Sure, the babies are Gemini witches, but how did they magically transfer into Caroline’s body? We watch as the blood runs off the edge of the map onto the floor. Caroline, who already thinks this is insane, thinks it’s not working since the blood goes off the map, but when she goes to clean it up, it ignites.
Alaric. Yes, that’s right.
Let’s start with that shocking revelation: Alaric is Caroline’s fiancé. Yes. If you’re anything like me, you’re still having problems wrapping your head around that. Lily is horrified by this (can she be this old AND this naive?) and Stefan and Damon later describe his behavior as similar to their dearly departed father, Giuseppe Salvatore.
