Diabetes claims one life every seven seconds around the world
Recent studies show that a total of 79 million people are now at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Patients with type 1 diabetes will need to take insulin injections for the rest of their life.
Type 2 diabetes is in most cases associated with obesity. The high iron content in red meat reduces insulin’s effectiveness.

But, despite the many challenges, most people with type 1 diabetes learn to live – and to live well – with the condition. However, if you must live alone or living by yourself is your choice, and do not like socialising either, pay attention to what you eat and have a healthy lifestyle.
It seems to have worked; the last time I checked my blood sugar levels, they were down around 5.6, which is nearly heading off the scale the other way. This results in heart attacks, strokes, the need to undergo regular dialysis treatment, or possibly the need for transplants.
Type 1 diabetes generally develops in childhood or adolescence, but can develop in later life.
