Clinton swamping Sanders in SC, poll shows
Sanders’s camp countered by pointing out that he had made similar statements about the investigation into Clinton’s emails before and immediately after the Las Vegas debate – suggesting there was nothing new in his comments to The Journal.
The Clinton and Sanders camps, meanwhile, sparred Thursday over whether Sanders was engaging in “personal attacks” regarding Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state.
Remember that big moment at the Democratic debate when Bernie Sanders said the American people are sick and exhausted of hearing about Hillary Clintons damn emails?
A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll unveiled on Tuesday determined that Sanders would knock off Trump in the general, 50% to 41%, while only 12% of Democratic voters think he could actually gain the party’s nomination.
Jim Cole/AP Bernie Sanders recently told the Wall Street Journal that there are “valid questions” about Hillary Clinton’s email practices. The poll, released Wednesday, has the former Secretary of State and NY senator leading the Democratic ticket by 71 percent in the Palmetto State. Sanders voted for the law in 2005; Clinton voted against it.
“Clinton enjoys a healthy lead going into the final three months of the Iowa campaign”, said Robin Johnson, host of the “Talking Politics” show on KBUR and part-time professor at Monmouth College.
Clinton went on to rack up several wins after the inaugural debate, including coming out on top at the end of an 11-hour appearance before the House Select Committee on Benghazi and receiving endorsements from a slew of congressional lawmakers and major unions, including AFSCME.
Sanders regularly downplays the issue as one that doesn’t rise to the level of raising wages, climate change and education reform, but doesn’t dismiss the email investigation entirely.
Of the Clinton supporters polled, 72 percent said she is a solid choice.
“The goal has got to be over the next few years no worker earns less than $15 an hour”, Sanders said. “We have come a very, very long way”. “Bernie’s never gone there and I don’t see us going there in the crusade unless it gets incredibly nasty and they make outrageous accusations about him”, Devine stated.
He also went after a Clinton weak spot – charging that her flip-flopping on issues, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership, “does speak to the character of a person”.
“It appears that Biden’s choice not to run helped Sanders, but also effectively anchored Clinton’s strong front runner status”, Huffmon said.
‘And more than anything, what I want to just emphasize is there are good people on both sides of this thing, but we have to be able to put ourselves in the other person’s shoes, ‘ the president said.
