The band closed their On The Road Again tour on Saturday night and it was an emotional evening for fans, family, and the boys.
One Direction have played the final gig of their world tour before their self-proclaimed extended break.
One Direction have sold 8.2 million tour tickets and over 65 million records worldwide.
In a recent interview with Britain’s The Sunday Times Style Magazine (via Xpose.ie), Liam Payne revealed that it had been a really hard year for the British boy band and the pressure has taken a toll on them. “Eventually, he got to a point where he’d had enough”. Harry similarly added, “We have been very lucky to work with an fantastic crew throughout the last five years of touring. I saw them in Manchester and now this could be the end”. “But he did call me and I said when you’ve embraced it you’ll be amazed how much you are going to love it and it will change your life for the better”. I’ve not even watched our films, because we are always running for the next thing. They may also return to the spotlight in time for The Brits before ultimately going on the said hiatus.
“We have three shows left on the tour this year and we feel that the further north you go the better the crowd, so we wanted to finish in Sheffield – the best place on earth”, he told the fans.
Niall Horan also chimed in, saying, “We’ve had five years of craziness”.

The boys will still be around as 2015 ends, with fifth studio album Made In The AM released globally on November 13.
