Dunkin Donuts unveils festive holiday cups
The social media response from consumers was predictably divided.
On Wednesday night’s episode of The Late Show, Stephen Colbert took time to discuss the dilemma facing Starbucks this holiday season, which is, the design of their Christmas cups simply do not have enough CHRISTmas in them.
Dunkin’ Donuts unveiled their new Joy cups on Tuesday, November 10.
The Starbucks red and green holiday cup has caused quite the commotion and frankly, I don’t know why. The brewer is running a buy one, get one free deal for its holiday beverages from Thursday through Sunday between the hours of 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. I mean, sometimes a red cup is just a red cup.
The fact the a the new Starbucks holiday cups have caused any controversy because they do not include pagan references to winter proves that a few people are looking for evil where no evil exists.
DeGeneres’ solution to those who feel like Starbucks needs a bit more Christmas in its stores?
“Dunkin” Donuts new slogan: “Dunkin Donuts: Jesus Doesn’t Hate Our Coffee Cups.’ #StarbucksRedCup”, one customer tweeted, while another added: “Dunkin Donuts: determined to win all the right wing religious coffee drinkers”. It’s a great move on the franchise’s part, as the Teavana Gingerbread Tea Latte is the ideal Christmas gift for anyone who isn’t about that coffee life but wants a holiday beverage all their own.

How soon is too soon for the War on Christmas?
The controversy surrounding the cups grew even louder Monday when Donald Trump suggested people boycott the chain. A few folks are already making fun of the obvious attempt to answer Starbucks’ boycotter’s prayers.
Starbucks has not responded to Dunkin’ Donuts coffee cup and has continued to stand behind their design.
