A Tribe Called Quest to reunite for Fallon performance
The iconic hip hop group will appear on the show on November 13, performing together for the first time since 2013.
The album is being reissued tomorrow, after being re-mastered by Bob Power, who was a sound engineer with the band and other groups in rap collective Native Tongues in the late Eighties and early Nineties. The show will be aired late night on Friday, November 12th, followed by a Saturday night performance in NY City at Santos Party House as part of their official anniversary party. The entire group will reunite for the performance. ATCQ member Q-Tip had previously announced these would be the trio’s last performances. But to see it in this incarnation … To celebrate the anniversary, the NY collective is re-releasing a remastered version of the project with remixes by Pharrell, Cee-Lo Green, and J. Cole.
Performing a few of their classic cuts including, “Electric Relaxation”, “Scenario”, “Jazz (We’ve Got)”, and “I Left My Wallet in El Segundo”, Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi will come together for the first time since their 2013 appearance on tour with Kanye West.
