Missy Elliott Is Back With A Brusing Hip-Hop Banger – Track Review
The pioneer rapper from Virginia dropped “WTF (Where They From)” today, a frisky jam injected with her trademark wit, as well as percussive elements and a nifty feature from Pharrell Williams, who produced the track with Elliott.
Missy Elliott has confessed she feels “humbled” by the reaction to her first new music video in seven years, ‘WTF (Where They From)’. The USA rapper has teamed up with producer Pharrell Williams for the upbeat track and the three-minute clip has sent fans into a frenzy with excitement at her comeback.
She said: “I am a walking testimony don’t giveup even when ppl doubt u Thank u God & my fans #WTFMissy (sic)”.
Future delivered “Last Breath”, a track that’ll feature in the new “Rocky” spin-off film, “Creed” and we also gained new music from J Cole and Erykah Badu.
24 years in the business, and she’s still nailing that choreo! It has been 10 years since Missy’s last studio album, The Cookbook was released but the hit maker is back with a vengeance.
Missy’s absence has been forced upon her by Graves Disease, but if the response to the Super Bowl proves anything, it’s that there is clearly still clearly an appetite for the multi-platinum pop genius.
A release date and further details about Elliott’s new album are yet to be revealed.
