Bobby Jindal Offers A Juice Box For Christie’s ‘Participation’ In Debate
Jindal attacked his rivals relentlessly.
Goldford said he found it interesting that Jindal attacked Christie as a big-government politician, but Christie declined to bite back. “You’ve had nine credit downgrades”. At least Christie has actually been on the big stage.
That’s when Christie jumped in and reminded both Jindal and Huckabee who the real enemy is: Hillary Clinton.
He says, “It’s not enough just to beat Hillary Clinton, we have to change the direction of our country”.
According to My Tech Bits, the undercard candidates may mostly agree on issues, but that did not stop a face-off between Jindal and Huckabee. “I need one name from each of you”, the Wall Street Journal’s Gerald Seib told the candidates.
“If Putin wants to go and knock the hell out of ISIS [ISIL], I am all for it, 100 percent, and I can’t understand how anybody would be against it”, Trump said during the fourth Republican presidential debate. “A liberal is not one of them”. There were no “gotcha” questions. There was little sparring with the candidates.
Another memorable part of the debate was when all four candidates refused to answer the question of which Democrat in Congress they admire. Lindsey Graham of SC brought noticeable foreign policy expertise into the conversation. Bush sought to interject early, reminding moderators that he had limited time in the last contest two weeks ago. It was replaced with bluster. He also vowed cyber warfare should the Chinese continue hacking American computer systems.
“If you think Mike Huckabee won’t be the kind of president who will cut back spending, or Chris Christie, or John Kasich, wait ’til you see what Hillary Clinton will do to this country and how she will drown us in debt”, Christie said, to cheers.
Huckabee said he disagreed with the Obama administration’s decision to accept at least 10,000 Syrian refugees, saying the US already has its hands full dealing with homelessness. He suggested that operatives from the Islamic State extremist group, also known as ISIS, would slip through.
“Ninety-one percent of our state budget was three things – educate, medicate and incarcerate – and we ended up cutting 11 percent out of the budget so we didn’t have to go in and raise a bunch of taxes”, Huckabee said.
“In a world where we have Al Qaeda and ISIS, the mullahs in Iran and Vladimir Putin, the woman who asks to run and represent all of United States says that her greatest enemies are people like you in this audience and us here”, he said.
