Nation remembers Nehru on 126th birth anniversary
November 14, the day India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was born, is celebrated as Children’s Day in the country.
Google India too acknowledged the celebration by putting up a special Children’s Day doodle.
Speaking on the occasion of the closing ceremony of 125th Birth Anniversary of the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in New Delhi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was instrumental in developing India as a strong democratic power in world’s prism.
Mukherjee, Ansari, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with top Congress leaders paid floral tributes to Nehru at his memorial “Shanti Van” on the banks of Yamuna here. Nehru love has been considered towards kids as well as the contribution to the education sector.
President Pranab Mukherjee also cascaded his blessings as well as wishes on the children. “If they succeed they would harm the nation in a big way”, Singh said, hinting at the Dadri lynching and a section of society asking others not to eat beef. “Tributes to him on his birth anniversary”, tweeted Modi, who is in London on an official visit. Actually he tweeted, these things in series of tweets, and today every school celebrates this birthday of our 1st PM.
