Mass. State Police on high alert as precaution after Paris attacks
State Police say they implemented a layered security plan at Logan after receiving word of the attacks.
In NY, the NYPD has deployed a few of their most armored and armed teams to sensitive French sites in the city as well as public areas.
At least 127 people died in Friday night’s gun-and-bombing rampages in Paris.
Meanwhile, the State Police Division of Field Services is increasing security around the area of the State House with Troop H personnel.
Police departments at New Haven universities, and transportation hubs are also on high alert. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility.
In Chicago, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy says law enforcement is monitoring intelligence and will respond as needed.
Procopio said State Police and the agency’s federal partners in the Joint Terrorism Task Force and at the Commonwealth Fusion Center are closely monitoring developments coming out of France and worldwide intelligence sources.
Meanwhile, a makeshift memorial for victims in Paris was growing outside the French Consulate in Boston.
“Our hearts go out to the people of Paris after a horrendous night of sheer terror and senseless violence that tragically took the lives of innocent people”, Baker said.
