Paris Attacks Force a few Cancellations at D/FW Airport
American Airlines Group, the world’s biggest carrier by passenger traffic, said yesterday it was delaying flights to Paris in response to the explosions and shooting attacks there, even though French airports remained open.
However no flights have been cancelled and the situation regarding the proposed 18.20 flight from Dublin to Paris “remains to be seen”.
Toronto Pearson Airport has asked all passengers flying to France to confirm their flight status with the airline before traveling, including travel plans that involve flights connecting through France.
The Airports Company of South Africa said it was up to individual airlines to decide whether they would keep to schedule or not, and did not have immediate information early on Saturday.
The airline separately advised passengers to get to airports three hours ahead of their departure time to allow for extra security procedures.
It said delays are to be expected due to the reinforcement of border controls by authorities.
Germany has offered France the help of its special anti-terror unit in the wake of the Paris attacks. “At first they said it was going to be delay and they finally canceled the flight”.
Operations are D/FW Airport were running normal on Friday evening.
In the French capital, with attractions from street markets to Disneyland Paris closed after the attacks, thousands of tourists scrambled for seats on trains and planes out of a city in lockdown.
