Paris Attacks: Cellphone Saves Life of Soccer Fan Fleeing Stadium
Sylvestre thinks it if wasn’t for his phone, he would be dead.
iTele The man, known as Syvestre, says his phone saved his life.
Last night’s horrific terror attacks in Paris showed that there were thousands of people willing to help out however they could – whether it was offering safe shelter or finding loved ones.
Sylvestre said he was shot in his foot and was grazed on his ribcage by a bullet.
“It is what saved me, otherwise my head would have been blown to bits”.
His Samsung smart phone was bent out of shape, the screen shattered and a hole drilled straight through.
The Frenchman – who identified by Reuters only as “Sylvestre” – said he was at the Stade de France when a bomb went off nearby and debris began flying.
He added: ‘I wouldn’t wish it on anyone’.
President Hollande was evacuated after the second bomb was detonated and in a televised address a short time later vowed merciless retribution against the attacks’ perpetrators.
But a few fans reportedly believed the noise may have been a firecracker, and even chanted “Ole!” in response to the noise.
The attack at the stadium was one of five to six coordinated terrorist attacks across the French capital on Friday night, in which over 125 people were killed.
