President, PM denounce Paris terrorist attacks
He said terrorism is an global phenomenon and a joint strategy should be thrashed out for its complete eradication.
He said that Pakistan has been fighting terrorism for a long time and is succeeding significantly now.
Former Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari also condemned in a statement the militant attacks in Paris and offered deepest condolences to the viticms’ families and the people of France.
AFP adds: The ISPR statement issued this week said that Raheel Sharif will use the United States trip to “clearly highlight Pakistan’s perspective of new emerging regional realities”, in what a few saw as implied criticism of Nawaz Sharif’s government’s failure to take long-term steps to tackle extremism.
Pakistan reiterated its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Zardari said his heart went out to the bereaved families of those killed and wounded in the Paris terror attacks.
Issues such as Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are being handled “by the military only”, he said, so it was natural for the army to want to talk to its U.S. counterparts.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said a helpline in Pakistani embassy in France had been established, where people could call to find out about their friends and relatives.
Multiple shootings and explosions hit central Paris overnight Friday, killing at least 120 people and injuring 200 others. When the French people left the stadium after that shocking attack, they were not cowed.
