Bodies of ‘probably’ seven dead babies found in German flat
Police were notified by another woman who found one of the dead infants.
The bodies of seven babies were found at a home in Germany. This is a small town of about 2,800 residents in the southern part of Germany.
The town has been left in a state of shock after the discovery. The remains are being examined but experts say this could take a few time.
“The bodies have been under examination since the early hours of the morning”.
The infants had been wrapped in hand towels and plastic bags and placed in a box, they said. Police then arrived and found the additional corpses in the same apartment.
Several people are being questioned by police – although a 45-year-old woman who previously lived at the property has not been located. “Could we have helped?'” Korn said, Deutsche Welle reported. Neighbours said the woman had left at the end of September, and they believed she had moved in with a new partner.
It’s unclear who, if anyone, was now living in the apartment. In the summer, she worked as an assistant in the local swimming pool, they said.
Neighbors described the family as “nice people”, and one said the mother had mentioned having “several miscarriages”, according to The Local.
The NY Times reported that it was not clear when or how the children died.
While police are looking for this woman, they are still questioning others in this criminal investigation.
