Russian Federation Steps Up Security after Paris Terror Attacks
Russian security agencies have tightened security across the country after deadly terror attacks in Paris, the country’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee said on Saturday.
On Saturday, it said it hoped the Paris attacks, which Russian Federation condemned unreservedly from President Vladimir Putin downwards, could be the trigger for the sea change it wants. “It is time for the West to stop criticising Moscow and to form a joint coalition”.
“Our state’s security organs are taking the appropriate measures to ensure the security of citizens and their protection against terrorism”, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee said in a statement after Friday night’s unprecedented violence in the French capital. But, to its irritation, Washington has accused Moscow of mostly sparing Islamic State targets and of bombing rebels backed by the West or Gulf states instead.
Moscow residents have paid tribute to victims of Paris attacks and laid flowers at the French embassy in Moscow.
The committee also urged the Russian people to show their responsibilities and be more vigilant in light of new threats from worldwide terrorist groups.
Russia’s deputy prime minister in charge of the defence industry Dmitry Rogozin said Russian defence bodies had introduced additional anti-terror security measures, according to Interfax news agency.
Moscow is particularly wary of an ISIS terrorist attack after the jihadist group released a video threatening attacks in Russian Federation “very soon”.
