Roethlisberger not ruling himself out this week

The evidence came into stunning view on Sunday in Pittsburgh. However, especially with a bye week after the Browns game, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the expectation is the Steelers will allow Roethlisberger to rest.

Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams ran for 170 yards and two scores as the Steelers rolled up 597 yards of total offense. The injury is expected to keep the quarterback for up to three weeks.

OTHER ISSUES: Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward wasn’t exactly in a celebratory mood after giving up a two-touchdown advantage in the fourth quarter. Linebacker Aldon Smith had an 11-yard sack of Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers were so frustrated by Jones’ lack of progress they signed Michael Vick off the street in late August as insurance after Bruce Gradkowski was lost for the season with a hand injury then promptly made Vick the primary backup behind Roethlisberger.

“We could have done so much more“, Carr said. “That’s the thing that hurts me”.

The Raiders have been one of the league’s bigger surprises in coach Jack Del Rio’s first year.

With multiple injuries on offense it appears as it the Steelers must lean on their defense to carry the team to a playoff berth. With Roethlisberger out for at least the next game, Pittsburgh will need the duo to step up once again in his absence. Oakland was flagged just three times for 21 yards….
