SC Dem poll: Clinton way ahead of Sanders
Among the first questions to Clinton was about her ties to Wall Street, as a former NY senator, in an election in which concerns about corporate malfeasance and Wall Street greed are tantamount.
“I’ve been a Democrat for a very long time”, said Clinton, pointing out she has raised money and supported Democratic candidates for decades and plans to rebuild the party “from the grassroots up”. “It’s just that when women talk, a few people think we’re shouting”.
Sanders drew a clear contrast by saying he opposes the Syria decision.
But it didnt go to plan. Fighting the NRA isn’t new for Clinton who fought them for years while Sanders voted against the Brady bill and against allowing people to sue gun manufacturers.
Clinton said she had “high hopes and expectations that there can be a new, ambitious, lasting climate agreement to be accepted” and took a little credit, arguing that if a deal is struck “it will be built on the foundation that the President and I laid in Copenhagen”.
Average all the national polls, and she’s beating Bernie Sanders 55-33, by more than 20 points.
Now Sanders is trying to correct that record. Clinton supported it 45 times, but now says she’s against it. As POLITIFACT states, “It’s up to voters to decide how they feel about her changed stance on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, but we rate Clinton’s reversal as a Full Flop”. Clinton spokeswoman Christina Reynolds said the man was “using a figure of speech that should not be taken literally”. “It’s not going on a limb or proposing anything particularly daring”, said a senior military officer with several combat deployments who is also a former White House staffer.
So I want parents to be able to exercise choice within the public school system – not outside of it – but within it because I am still a firm believer that the public school system is one of the real pillars of our democracy and it is a path for opportunity. Thats silly. … Let the investigation proceed unimpeded. In 1995, she visited as first lady. There is an investigation.
Sanders and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who are challenging Clinton for the nomination, have questioned her commitment to environmental causes, noting her reluctance to come out against the Keystone pipeline. And, in a way, hes right.
As of Sunday afternoon, the Hill reported Clinton had 127 congressional endorsements from Democrats, including New Jersey Sen. That should tell us something about her.
According to an aide, Clinton will support cutting in half federal mandatory minimum sentences for nonviolent drug offenders. If he chooses to focus on the issues, he will remain what he is today: a favorite of a certain brand of liberal.
“Not enough of us appreciate the degree to which we have put the burden of” war “on the backs of such a small number of people”, he said.
Sanders said that the economy now is sending nearly all the wealth to the richest in America, with the middle class left struggling without competitive wages.
Less than two weeks ago, Clinton stumbled badly when she downplayed the scandal at the Veterans Administration to Rachel Maddow, dismissing it as “not as widespread” as critics had made it out to be for political reasons – a tin-eared obliviousness obvious even to her supporters still cheering her appearance before the Benghazi committee. Tell me why shes the worst person in the world.
