Power 5 – NFL Week 10

The crop of unbeatens has dropped to three teams, as the Cincinnati Bengals, the New England Patriots, and the Carolina Panthers all continue their march towards a ideal record.

New England Patriots @ NY Giants- This is a rematch of Super Bowls XLII and XLVI, both Giants wins. The 49ers have no touchdowns in their past two games and three in five. It was the fourth time this season he has fallen short of 300 yards passing while also throwing two or more interceptions.

Carr is the best young quarterback no one is talking about, with 19 touchdown passes and four interceptions, while receiver Amari Cooper is emerging as a star and running back Latavius Murray is one of the breakout players of the season. St. Louis Rams minus-7 vs. Chicago Bears Methodical Rams are not the type of team to back laying more than a touchdown, but one glaring advantage makes them better than the alternative.

Houston Texans @ Cincinnati Bengals- How in the world this is a Monday night game? I’m familiar with their personnel and their scheme. I think the Titans are a live underdog, and wouldn’t be surprised if they pull off another upset. It wouldn’t have made much difference even if they’d caught everything that Cousins threw, however. Cutler looks like he’s getting comfortable under new offensive coordinator Adam Gase, who is making a good case for a head coaching job next offseason… The Houston offense is ranked ninth and has the League’s 14th-ranked defense which allows a league-low 27 per cent on third down conversions.

Quietly, Robinson’s a Top 10 WR this year in average points, and he’s going against a Baltimore Ravens defence which gives up a 284 yards/game average against passers. The other two, against Miami and Atlanta, were proper blowouts.

11 Times Green Bay has scored first in its last 12 regular-season home games. What they are also displaying is a real desire to catch and overhaul the Packers in the NFC North Division.

That’s highly unlikely, of course, with the 2007 Patriots the only team since the 1972 Dolphins to complete an undefeated schedule, but the 16-0 will now begin in earnest and this year’s Pats are a team that could seriously make another run at perfection. If the Cardinals are going to finish with the No. 1 seed, they are going to need the Panthers to lose at least two more games.

PHILADELPHIA: Eagles have five of their final eight games at home to make charge at division title. It’s actually an important game for Green Bay, as they are now tied with the Vikings in the division. This Bengals team, even before the Dalton era, struggled to win a playoff game.

The Bills started off the Week 10 schedule with a win over the Jets, while the Sunday schedule has early games with the Packers, Lions, Cowboys, Buccaneers and Bears.

I like the Packers to beat the Lions 31 to 24.

Fans can be forgiven for turning to college football as the season nears its end to see who their team might go for as a leading, if not No1, draft pick.

Browns @ Steelers: Antonio Brown and Deangelo Williams both had big games last week and that is the recipe for a Steelers win.
