Olly Murs realises his mistake.
Realising he had made an announcement before the deadlock result had been revealed, Murs apologised saying: “I’m sorry guys, I’ve made a mistake”.
Monica Michael and Anton Stephens faced each other in the sing off, and with the judges unable to reach a decision, the public votes saw Rita Ora’s act Monica lose her place in the competition.
Stone was the first one to be eliminated in this episode, since he received the lowest number of votes from the public.

“I feel really lucky to have come this far”, he told Olly and Caroline, while mentor Simon said: “Max is a gentleman and he is really cool and calm and I have really grown to like him”.
The results show was in deadlock as judges failed to choose who they wanted to send home between Monica Michael and Anton Stephans.
Opening up about her departure, she said: “It’s been such an fantastic journey, thank you for bringing me back”. Rita [Ora], thank you. Ultimately, it was not a shock to see his name be called out, given that he performed early in the show and probably had the weakest overall performance of the night. It’s the flawless song for me and it shows my voice to its full extent. Jess Glynne was also a guest performer.
The remaining seven acts left The X Factor competition will now be included in the live tour which kicks off next year and has dates in Belfast and Dublin.
