Black Friday Deals 2015: Best Buy Offers ‘Doorbuster’ Deals, a few Stores

The holiday sales season is off and running, and Walmart is among the first out of the gate. Meanwhile the number of rollbacks in stores will be about the same. However, considering its past year offerings, it is forecasted that the deals will concentrate more toward home goods and kitchen items.

“Customers today are bombarded with different messages and different offers”, Wal-Mart U.S.’s chief merchandising officer, Steve Bratspies, said on Wednesday. “That’s the promise of our brand”.

“Battlefield Mall is ready to welcome families to benefit from our extended shopping hours and great sales from our more than 150 popular retail stores”, Mall General Manager Michael Martin said in a news release.

Black Friday is November 27th and many deals start on Thanksgiving Day 2015 at Walmart and at other retailers. Many are also making it just as easy for customers to skip a store trip altogether by making the same deals available online.

Numerous Walmart Black Friday doorbusters are available online at 12:01 AM Pacific on Thanksgiving Day and the in-store events start at 6PM local time. I’ll be shopping online most of the day Black Friday and possibly heading out later in the day if something pops up that I just have to have. Walmart clearly tried to leverage the Black Friday ad to drive app installs.

Greg Foran, head of Wal-Mart’s USA operations, said he was comfortable with the retailer’s inventory levels. For example, Rosalind Brewer, president and CEO of Sam’s Club, believes that starting Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving evening will actually reduce stress, not increase it to maddening levels.

“Our members have told us that the holidays leave them feeling time-strapped”. REI hasn’t posted any of the sales it plans to offer, but if it’s anything like previous year, you can expect promotions such as 30% to 50% off Big Agnes sleeping pads, Fitbit products and REI Revelcloud jackets, along with discounts on Gore-Tex hiking boots and free shipping.

Walmart is again offering a mobile check-in service that lets you buy online and pick up your items in the store. “The new Pre-Black Friday Event is created to help alleviate a few of the stress that comes with preparing for a big meal and having a gift list to fulfill”, she said.

Meanwhile, Best Buy announced this week that eight of its Black Friday deals were already available for purchase, ABC reported.
