Dwayne Johnson opens up about depression battle
In the preview clip above, Johnson relates how he arrived at the decision to go from football to wrestling, which ultimately led to him becoming The Rock we all know today.
His parents were in an argument while driving when his father pulled the vehicle over on the side of the road.

The 43-year-old is the next up to tackle Oprah’s awe-inspiring Master Class, a series where celebrities share their stories of success ranging from topics like pivotal moments that have shaped their lives and even the greatest lessons they’ve learned during their journey.
At age 23, Dwayne fell into a deep depression and was uncertain as to what he was supposed to do next with his life.
“I found that with depression that one of the most important things you can realize is that you’re not alone”, Johnson said, per Sean Ross Sapp of Wrestling Inc.
Six weeks after he was cut from the Calvary Stampeders, his coach called and asked him to come back.
“I said, ‘No I don’t think so”.
In the teaser, which Johnson shared on Twitter, he talks about how he originally wrestled under the name Rocky Maivia, a combination of his father’s and his grandfather’s names (both of whom were professional wrestlers). Dwayne decided he wanted to follow in their footsteps to his fathers disapproval. “Maybe I’ll be no good but I feel like I have to do this”, he said of wrestling.
His dad then predicted he was throwing away his sports career, but the Fast and Furious star had other ideas.
Now years later Dwayne Johnson is doing great and is very happy with his life.
