Snyder Suspends Effort to Get Visas for Syrian Refugees
“President Obama’s plan to bring 10,000 Syrian refugees to the U.S”. He said the state would “put on hold our efforts to accept new refugees”.

At least 117 heads of state and government have accepted tinvitations to come on the first day of the November 30-Dec. “Authorities need to investigate what happened in Europe before this problem comes to the United States”, Jindal said.
House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said there are “gaping holes” in the vetting system for the Syrian refugees.
“What we need to be able to do frankly is sort out… those who have gone into Syria and come out and want to launch attacks or those people who have connections” to the Islamic State in Syria, Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told Fox News Sunday. I said we should go to 65 [thousand], but only if we have as careful a screening and vetting process as we can imagine, whatever resources it takes.

Republican presidential contender Marco Rubio on Sunday said the United States can not do so because it’s impossible to know whether people fleeing Syria have links to Islamic militants – an apparent shift from earlier statements in which he left open the prospect of migrants being admitted with proper vetting. These are people who don’t even have food, where are they going to find grenades from?
The mood had already been turning against the millions of Syrian men, women and children driven into destitution by a war that has gone on for four and a half years. They are not running for their lives, with their loved ones to bomb other countries. And previously generous countries like Sweden and Germany that opened their arms to thousands were already pulling back. Because why wouldn’t they infiltrate them with people who are ideologically opposed to us? He doubted that every European country was ready to screen the refugees, but insisted that Americans “do have a pretty aggressive program for those coming to this country, for screening their backgrounds”.
