Liam Payne’s Harry Potter Mania Is Out of Hand
I bought one because I’m a bit of a geek.’ Apparently it cost him six figures, too. The One Direction member hasn’t just read the books and seen the movies, he spent thousands of dollars on a set piece from “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”. It’s worth noting that many sites are referring to the auto as “Harry Potter’s car” in their reports, which is shameful and all wrong because true Harry Potter fans will know that the vehicle actually belonged to Arthur Weasley (who had magicked it to make it fly without his wife Molly’s knowledge).
During an interview on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, Liam told Nick Grimshaw that he purchased a Harry Potter movie prop to express his geekdom.
Liam is now the proud owner of one of the battered Ford Anglia 105Es used in the making of the film – around 15 were said to have been used in filming. “He got Hufflepuff and I got Gryffindor and he was so annoyed”.
It isn’t THE only auto to have been used in Chamber of Secrets, though.
Now, the 22-year-old singer has revealed that his love for the wizarding world goes even further than a Harry Potter soirée.
Talking to Olly about their fifth studio album, Liam revealed the band didn’t need to write it, but felt they owed it to their loyal fans before taking a break, saying: ‘It’s so exciting we made this album for the fans’.
