Michael Douglas to return for Ant-Man And The Wasp
Otherwise, we don’t really know where Ant-Man will be heading next, or how it might tie into the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we hope it involves Michael Peña again too.
More extra details from Ant-Man are on the way, as the film will be available on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on Tuesday, and on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD December 8. This has the director’s commentary on which tells us that Paul Rudd joins Peyton Reed for the commentary track.
During Douglas’ interview with Collider, the actor has revealed that the production has recently called him and talked to him into reprising his role as Dr. Hank Pym in the sequel “Ant-Man and The Wasp”.
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will reprise their roles and Michael Douglas is reportedly in negotiations with Marvel to return since he didn’t sign a multi-picture deal originally. It involves Darren Cross showing off the capabilities of Pym Particles, something which leads to a few very cool visuals of how the tech could be used in a scene which sadly didn’t make it into the final cut of Ant-Man.
Of the many great elements in Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man, it was perhaps Michael Douglas and Michael Pena’s supporting turns that got the most rave reviews.
“Hopefully, I won’t have to carry quite as much expositional dialogue as the first one but I had a wonderful time doing it”, Douglas said. The cast was fantastic. If they can scrape Corey Stoll off the wall, I’m sure they’ll want him too – he’s such a good villain…I chuckle about being involved with a movie that already has a release date in 2018.
