Palestinian arrested in connection with drive-by shooting in West Bank
Fourteen Israelis were killed in stabbing and running over attacks carried out by Palestinians.
Israeli troops shot dead at least two Palestinians during a gun battle in the occupied West Bank on Monday, Palestinian medical sources said, amid a weeks-old wave of violence.
Violence since the start of October has killed 83 people on the Palestinian side – including one Arab Israeli – and 12 Israelis.
“Cases of excessive use of force by Israeli forces against Palestinians, including a few which appear to amount to summary executions, continue to be reported”, said the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Palestinian Territories, Makarim Wibisono, and the expert on summary executions, Christof Heyns.
Hundreds of Palestinians threw firebombs and rocks at Israeli forces while they were demolishing the home, and troops fired rubber bullets, tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the protesters, the military said.
Israeli leaders expressed condolences to the French over the Paris terror attacks, but quickly stressed Sunday that Israel and the West face the same foe in radical Islam and that Israel is on the front line. Israel says 51 of the Palestinians were involved in assaults and the rest died in clashes with security forces.

Dozens of Palestinians were injured in the attack with Yusuf Abu Latifa, 17, said to be critically wounded.
Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyal al-Maliki, speaking on Voice of Palestine radio, described the Qalandia incident as “clear escalation, clear assassination” by Israel.
Shortly after, over 1,000 Israeli soldiers re-rolled into the camp, and sealed it off from all corners, sparking violent clashes.
The current violence began in mid-September with clashes in and around a sensitive Jerusalem holy site revered by Muslims and Jews.
“What I have found actually since leaving the Quartet role is that it’s been easier to have conversations in complete frankness with people”.
The prime minister has compared Palestinian terrorists to the Islamic State group in the past, with critics responding that he was oversimplifying a complicated threat.
