Mass. Army Reserve Center broken into, weapons stolen

Sixteen weapons were stolen from the reserve center, according to a statement by Augustus.

The weapons have been listed in NCIC, an index used by law enforcement nationwide to track stolen firearms, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.

Descriptions of the missing weapons have been entered into the National Crime Information Center, an online database searchable by law enforcement database.

MA Governor Charlie Baker said an investigation was underway and that the FBI is working with state and local law enforcement to recover the weapons.

“The more opportunity people have to rely on citizenry to serve as the eyes and ears, the more it makes a difference”, Baker said at a press conference on Sunday when he confirmed the theft.

Local police are collaborating with state and federal authorities in the investigation, FBI spokeswoman Kristen Setera said late Sunday.

“We had been suggested of the matter”.

They obtained away off with sixteen weapons together with 10 9mm pistols and 6 M4 assault rifles.

The break-in first came to light when an employee spotted smoke coming from the building early Sunday morning and called 911.

The Worcester metropolis supervisor mentioned investigators are looking for an unidentified man.

“We’re unsure it it’s native or one thing larger than that”, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh stated. “The time of this break-in at the armory is hard in light of what occurred in Paris”.
