Morata: ‘I’m happy at Juventus’
Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has reiterated his desire to stay at the club following rumours of a return to Real Madrid.
“I’ve not had all the attention I’d have liked with the national team because I haven’t been at my best”.
Bronzetti did admit that any move would be scuppered if Morata himself decided that he was happy in Italy, and quotes from an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport recently seem to suggest that the 23-year-old has no intention of moving.
When asked if he had been in touch with Madrid, Morata replied: “No”. I played through various types of pain.
“My objective is to win titles, not scorers’ charts. I am dealing with it in the sense that if they are asking me about Madrid it’s because I am playing well and scoring goals”. I feel really good at Juve and I do not think about other clubs.
“[On leaving], it was a change I needed”.
Much to the surprise of many though, Madrid chose to sell Morata to Juventus in a €22million deal in the summer of 2014 and Los Blancos were eventually made to rue the decision, as the youngster played a huge role in knocking out the Spanish giants from the Champions League last season. What is said and what is not isn’t my problem.
“[On going back to Madrid], who knows, but I’m already at a club who make me happy”.
“The only [messages] I’ve heard from Madrid are the congratulatory ones [head of PR Emilio] Butragueno sends me”. Thanks to the captains and players who have been at Juve for many years, because that was the most important, for the new players to know what Juve means, and now we only lack one thing: to win.
