Bryan Singer to direct next X-Men movie
X-Men: Apocalypse was filmed there, and according to local paper Le Journal de Montreal, Bryan Singer may return to the director’s chair for the seventh movie in the series.
The team of X-Men – led once again by Director Bryan Singer – will open its offices in production in November 2016 for a shoot in 2017.
Although the next X-Men film is still over 6 months away from being release, information regarding the next X-Men film is already beginning to emerge.
With the next movie billed as the end of the trilogy which began with X-Men: First Class, chances are that Singer will move on and serve only as a producer. “To convince Fox to return for a second and now a third is simply wonderful”.
“It is still a great news for our industry when it welcomes this kind of production”.
As of right now, the future of the X-Men franchise is unclear.
“They love our facilities, our technicians and they appreciate the fact that our studios are located five minutes from downtown and 15 minutes from the airport”.
I’m not saying that Bryan Singer isn’t going to direct another X-Men movie, it’s certainly very much within the realm of possibility, maybe even likely. “It feels well in Montreal”. Nevertheless, James McAvoy’s Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto should be sticking around, and they will have a new collection of younger X-Men characters to support them in any new 80s based stories.
His future and that of the X-Men should be easier to foresee after seeing Apocalypse, which still won’t be shown to the world until May 27, 2016.
