Dead Deer Strung Up on Florida School’s Flagpole
– Students, faculty and staff at Brandon High School were in for a disturbing shock this morning after they arrived to find a dead deer hanging from the flagpole outside.
Hillsborough County Schools spokesperson Tanya Arja said that when employees arrived at Brandon High School on Monday morning, it was dark and they didn’t notice the deer.
Indeed, Hillsborough sheriff’s spokesman Larry McKinnon deemed the incident a prank “gone way too far”.
“These school pranks are sometimes very elaborate, but we’ve never seen them to this particular type of shock value”, he said.
Keeping with the big game theme, six Tarpon Springs High teens were stopped before carrrying out their plan to smuggle a 25-foot fiberglass shark into the school’s courtyard in 1993. The deer was quickly removed, but not before images were posted to social media.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video and said whoever did it could face charges, including trespassing.
