Muslims condemn ISIS and the Paris attacks
On Friday night, he felt depressed because he felt sad for the victims and the attacks further confirms that Islam, in the minds of many Americans, are terrorists.
“Security is a great blessing of civil society, and to intentionally undermine that security is an act pleasing to people who say they are Muslim”. Rouhani had been scheduled to visit France as part of a wider European trip this weekend but has postponed his plans.
In January, following the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris – where 11 people were murdered at a French satirical magazine – Muslim community leaders living in Merseyside publicly condemned the events.
Tarek Zidi, 32, from Glasgow, added: “I was completely shocked by what happened in Paris just as everyone was”.
“Islam says that taking the life of an innocent person is as if you killed all mankind. First, they want us to lose control of everything even ourselves, and second, they want to divide us”, he stressed.
As with many Muslim and black people, I was born and raised in France, I speak French, I dream in French – so I don’t have to integrate, because I’m French and I belong to this country. The Paris attacks have seen heightened levels of anger against followers of Islam.
It once again is not being taken into account that they are human beings just like you or I. “These unprecedented attacks, targeting innocent people, are against everything we stand for, shoulder to shoulder with others, in the civilized world”.
President Hollande said Friday’s attacks were carried out by members of the Daesh terrorist organization, which later reportedly claimed responsibility.
Ali Jakvani, the 24-year-old chairman of the Young Muslim American Leadership Advisory Council, also spoke at the center.
“Islam’s holy book Quran mandates absolute freedom to all people of the world, not only Muslims”, said Haroon Qureshi, a representative of the Japan Islamic Trust in Tokyo.
But Muslims want the world to know that’s not true…
“They are basically a bunch of, I would say, thugs and terrorists, who have their own ulterior motives”.
