Valkyria Chronicles Remaster and all-new game coming to PlayStation 4
The remaster is scheduled to release on February 10th in Japan, with a Western release date as of now unconfirmed.
Valkyria: Azure Revolution’s plot centres around the rapid expansion of the Rus Empire after the discovery of the azure mineral Ragnite.
Sega’s cult hit RPG Valkyria Chronicles is getting a brand new instalment on PS4 – as well as a remake of the first game in the series. Jutland, a small country, is econmically blockaded by the large country, and advocating “independence and freedom from colonial rule”, strikes the empire army’s base.
The game’s protagonist is a commanding officer in the Judland Kingom’s Anti-Valkyria Unit. The princess of the Jutland Kingdom. It sounds like the game will retain the series’ unique art style while adding a few new gameplay elements. So there’s at least a good indication that the newer game is coming westbound, although we hope the remaster is too.
IGN reviewed the PC release of Valkyria Chronicles, saying that it’s “gorgeous, engrossing, and not for the impatient”. Perhaps to the disappointment of many, 2010’s Valkyria Chronicles II and Japan-only 2011’s Valkryria Chronicles III were both exclusive not to the PS3, but rather to the PlayStation Portable.
