Video shows moment shots erupted in Paris concert hall
A woman can be seen clinging from a window ledge as dozens of terrified people flee for their lives in a dramatic video showing the deadly attack on the Bataclan concert hall in Paris.
Three occupants emerged from the vehicle, armed with automatic weapons and wearing belts packed with extremely volatile explosives.
Four masked terrorists armed with AK-47s stormed the rock concert while more than 1,000 people watched the band Eagles of Death Metal. They didn’t stop firing.
“They were shooting randomly toward us, toward the crowd”, Pearce said.
At least 129 people died in a series of attacks in the French capital on Friday night.
More than 140 were killed across the city of Paris, as attacks also occurred at the national soccer stadium and outside bars and restaurants.
Vision outside the Bataclan concert venue is taken by photographer Patrick Zachmann, as he hid behind an unmarked police vehicle.
French President Francois Hollande called the attacks an “act of war”, and he pointed to the Islamic State terror group as the culprit. Two of the men worked together, one aiming and shooting while the other covered him.
“We needed to get out of this hell, to try something, at least”, he said. “Everyone ran toward the stage”.
Other people escaped through the Bataclan’s side doors, a few dragging bodies with them. “The leader of the band, the previous song before everything happened, said to the crowd, ‘Let’s do a prayer.’ And so at that moment, we thought it was ironic”. He then saw people leaving the Bataclan, with “all the world” running from the building.
Belgian authorities tell AFP news agency that they have boosted checks on their borders, especially with France, following the attacks. France 24 reported that the attackers had tossed explosives at the hostages, and explosions could be heard from outside the theatre.
“He seemed very young, that’s what struck me, his childish face, very determined, cold, calm, frightening”, he said.
“I grabbed my girlfriend and pulled her with me and tried to make my way towards the exit”.
“They were killing machines”.
