Julian Edelman injures foot in win over

The Patriots moved the ball into Giants territory with four seconds remaining and Gostkowski finished the rally. What resulted instead was another agonizing defeat.

The victory kept improved the Super Bowl champions’ record to 9-0 and star quarterback Brady completed 5-of-10 passes during the orchestration of the 49th game-winning drive of his career. While Jones & Alfred Morris have been bad for most of the season, you can pick up Jones with low expectations from here on out.

The team needs to get through the next couple of games and be injury free. In the meantime, however, the Patriots will struggle to pick apart defenses the way they have so far this season. However, the Pats struggled mightily thereafter and need to have someone else emerge to match Edelman’s go-to status. If it’s reminiscent of the last time these two teams met up, back in week two, when Tom Brady put of 466 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

Luckily, New England began moving the ball again in the fourth quarter in large part to Amendola’s play.

But they also were plagued by critical pass interference penalties, and lost top receiver Julian Edelman in the first half with a foot injury.

The Patriots rallied for the win against a Giants team that gave them their toughest test of the season. Linebacker Jasper Brinkley came in on the tackle that caused the injury.

Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.’s touchdown catch was overturned in the fourth quarter. “I talked to him earlier in the week last week and it was a little sore, but it sounded like he was able to practice on Friday and saw a few highlights from the game, it looked like he was moving around okay, but hopefully he will figure out a way to feel as good as he can and get a plan for getting back where he is moving around, being able to push off and playing the way he knows he can play”.

The wide receiver is a great help for the team recording 61 receptions for 692 yards and seven touchdowns for 2015. The Giants will have two weeks to prepare for a game against the Washington Redskins out of the bye that could be for first place in the NFC East.

Not even Giants coach Tom Coughlin is sure how his team will react. “Guys practiced hard, they worked hard, they wanted it badly, they prepared well, and they battled out on the field”.

This is one of those years the New England Patriots are finding ways to win.

In other words, if Beckham’s play was ruled a catch, it’s likely that the Patriots undefeated season would have ended. The win did not come without its costly losses, however.

They could bring in Dion Lewis, then run wheel routes and screens out of the backfield and beat you that way.
