Brandy-gets-ignored-while-singing-on-NYC-subway
If full mariachi bands and obnoxious dudes with crab buckets can’t make subway riders blink, what chance did Brandy have? Brandy agreed, seeing that she was in a corner of the subway auto, and singing to herself and the cameraman. “Nobody cares? Ok”, she said.
Singer/actress Brandy was left nursing a bruised ego when she burst into song on a New York train and was ignored by commuters – until one passenger told her the performance was no big deal. But it seems like folks in New York are just not aware.
Absolutely no one recognized Brandy when she sang a Whitney Houston cover on the 1 train recently. Hello? Nobody heard me singing?
“Ya’ll thought that was cool”, she asked folks riding.
She looked like she was about to cry when nobody responded to her questions.
Brandy posted the video in a blog post titled “Can A Sistah Get One Fan?” and the jury’s still out on that question.
Brandy learned how different New York City really is when she moved here in April to star as Roxie Hart in “Chicago The Musical” on Broadway.
“This is an important city ready to embrace you”.
“I’ve hung out in Central Park, Times Square, ridden the bus, and I’ve gotten accustomed to taking the subway too”, she wrote on her blog.
“Don’t be scared, you’ve got talent man, go for it!” the man encouraged.
It takes a lot to impress New Yorkers, apparently. “You have got to do something different”. I’m learning the streets and everything, y’all!
