Apple is releasing a round charging dock for the Apple Watch
Currently, it is unknown when or if Apple will release this magnetic charging dock, but according to a sticker that can be seen on the box, and assuming these images are real, it will retail for somewhere in the ballpark of $100. The product does not yet appear to be available online but is on stock shelves at Apple retail stores, perhaps slightly earlier than officially planned.
Published by German website grobgebloggt.de, these photos are pretty much the first proof that Apple’s now working on such an accessory for its Watch, as previous reports on this coming from people close to the matter have never been confirmed. This means that if you were waiting for the official charging dock for your Apple wearable, you need to prepare for welcoming the official dock from Apple. The charging dock is said to allow the Smart Watch to charge whilst laying flat, as well as on its side in “night stand mode” which was introduced back in WatchOS 2. That will make it easier to use Apple’s design as a non-charging display for your watch, too.
If the leak is accurate, the new dock could add a new “wireless” option for Apple Watch owners to charge their Watch.
The images look kind of fishy to us, and we’re not sure why Apple would need to release a charging pad right now.
