JJ Watt takes potshot at Andy Dalton following MNF victory
Edelman caught four passes for 53 yards before leaving the game on Sunday.
There was a smattering of boos at one point in the fourth quarter for a team that was 8-0 for the first time in franchise history.
The Cincinnati Bengals suffered their first loss of the 2015 season on Monday Night Football, falling to the Houston Texans 10-6. “I have a lot of good memories in Cincinnati”.
“Just talkin’ to my teammates about how everybody told us we couldn’t do this”, he told ESPN’s Lisa Salters.
Kubiak was kicking himself for letting Manning play against the Chiefs after he’d been limited during the week by a torn plantar fascia in his right foot, a mysterious ribcage injury that announced itself over the weekend and a lingering sore throwing shoulder.
Up front and in coverage, the Texans rattled the Bengals’ passing game. But I’m disappointed in him because of the integrity of this game.
Watt did say afterward that Dalton is a great quarterback and the Bengals are a great team, but the Texans executed a game plan to limit his effectiveness. He converted just 25 percent against the Texans.
The Houston Texans have a way of making things miserable for Andy Dalton and the Bengals.
“All I kept saying to myself while I was juggling it was, “I can’t let this ball get away from me”. Entering the game, Dalton averaged 15.2 yards per attempt on such throws, best among qualified quarterbacks.
The short game wasn’t effective either.
The move, announced Monday night on Payton’s weekly radio show on WWL-AM, comes a day after the Saints allowed 526 yards in a 47-14 loss to the Washington Redskins. And the Red Rifle wasn’t about to put up with any of Watt’s nonsense.
Alfred Blue has started the two games since Foster was injured, but has managed just 61 yards rushing in those games combined. They worked on tackling, and it improved.
They worked on ways to get more players involved.
The Texans were all over Dalton again Monday.
“Cov had a few pressures and did a few good things”, O’Brien said. “We’ll make plays and catches like we have been and continue to get better at it”. Played nickel for us tonight.
But, the response from inside the Bengals’ locker room was one of accountability and responsibility, indicative of a confident team that has matured in recent years under head coach Marvin Lewis. A convincing win over the Cleveland Browns earlier in the campaign raised hopes that the Bengals had conquered their fears, but a nervy showing against Houston suggested otherwise. Dalton went to his most talented receiver, Green. Green fumble at the Texans’ 22-yard line with 40 seconds remaining. “This was an incredible team win”. You keep having negative plays and keep setting yourself back. “You have to know how to pass. We tried to enable that and help him along, but when it was game time, you didn’t know what to expect because he didn’t practice well all week”.
