Siasia begs Mum’s kidnappers
Former Super Eagles Coach Austin Eguavoen and Nigeria Football Federation’s board member, Chris Green have sympathised with the National U-23 Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia, whose mother was abducted by kidnappers Monday night in his home village in Bayelsa State.
Madam Siasia was kidnapped from her house in Odoni village, Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa state by armed men who stormed the family’s house in the early hours of today, November 17.
According to reports, the septuagenarian was taken away on a motorcycle.
Bayelsa State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Ansinim Butswat, has confirmed the incident saying that the matter has been reported, but details were still sketchy.
The coach pleaded with his mother’s abductors to release her.
Narrating their ordeal in the hands of the kidnappers, Pa Siasia disclosed that the abductors first went to the neighbours’ flat where they tied a woman who led them. I am right now on national duty and need all the time to concentrate on this very important national task.
He also showered encomiums on the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF), his employers for coming to his aid in their efforts of trying to search for his mother and thanked many Nigerians that have called and sent messages to him through his facebook, whatsapp twitter handle and vowed not to disappoint them in the task of qualifying the Dream Team VI for next year’s Olympics.
A downcast NFF President Amaju Pinnick said: “This is quite disturbing”. We are just preparing for a crucial 2018 Federation Internationale de Football Association World Cup qualifying match, and the U23 boys are already in The Gambia for a pre-Cup of Nations training camp. “Samson is on a critical national assignment presently and the last thing he needs is this kind of distraction”.
