Barack Obama reveals his favourite Game of Thrones character
It was announced on Tuesday that President Obama will be on the cover of GQ’s annual “Men of the Year” issue.
President Barack Obama has sat down (again) with Bill Simmons for an interview in the White House, this time for GQ.
Asked whether he has kicked his smoking habit, Obama said he has smoked “zero” cigarettes in the last five years.
“We had confidence, for example, that the economic decisions that we made to stabilize the financial system and pass Wall Street reform and raise taxes on the wealthiest and pass health care-that would have a payoff”. “In a few ways we’re just laying the foundation for what I assume will be the standard practice of future presidents”, he said. The White House denied that the item was a pack of smokes.
The topic of Trump came up while the two were talking about “Game of Thrones”, which Obama said he loved, but has trouble remembering any of the characters’ names. “Anybody who thinks I could get away with telling Michelle I’m going to be president any longer than eight years does not know my wife”, Obama said.
Simmons is the first to admit that President Barack Obama is one of the reasons why the former ESPN columnist felt discomfort with the Worldwide leader.
BO: They’re making a profit, and I think that’s what the owners are most concerned with. And then, before the second inauguration has even happened, [the school shooting at] Sandy Hook happens. The president preferred a comparison to Rodgers for his ability to remain focused.
“Uh … I don’t think …” These are 6-year-olds, right?
“Absolutely”, Obama said. “Well, you know, I know [current Bulls owner Jerry] Reinsdorf pretty good – he’s not giving that thing up anytime soon. But we had to try”.
Obama was asked whether it would interest him to be named to the U.S. Supreme Court following his presidency.
Obama paused while answering, prompting Simmons to jump in and press him for his true feelings.
Obama also compared himself in the interview with American football player Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, in the sense that he believes he has the same quality of “not getting flustered in what’s around me”.
He added that his temperament is not conducive to sitting in relative solitude and only opine and write.
