Ronaldo rivalry drives Messi to greatness
Coinciding with the release of his new film, Ronaldo was in top form, even stating he is the world’s best player and despite stating that he believes Lionel Messi will win world football’s top gong.
Global breaks always throw up a few transfer rumour or the other, but this time it seems to have churned out something that nobody would have been anticipating – talks of Lionel Messi’s prospective move to Arsenal FC.
So during his appearence on the Jonathan Ross Show, Ronaldo chose to take another dig at his famed rival.
Fulham striker Moussa Dembele is flattered by speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League, but his only focus at present is on helping the club win promotion. “But honestly, I don’t see it. You never know in football, but he is very happy at Barcelona and I don’t know if he will ever change clubs”.
Asked if the rivalry breeds animosity between them, Ronaldo doesn’t think so.
Both players have not joined up with their respective national sides during the worldwide break in a bid to return to fitness for the first El Clasico of the season. He has so far played seven league matches scoring thrice this season for Barcelona.
Asked about Ramos’ injury, Suarez said: “I am not going to go looking for his shoulder, in the same way nobody is going to look for Messi’s knee”. “We have a normal relationship”.
“But I must say as well that the team is playing well now without him… and scoring plenty of goals in the process which means that Barcelona manage to do well without him”.
“Time will tell whether we are one of the best attacks in the history of the game, but it is clear that we are getting along well”. He won the best for him, I won the best for me. “He is training with us, with good feelings, but it is an injury that could have risks for the future”.
